Teen Challenge / TRACEY WHALEN

The majority of Tracey's life was consumed by addiction. As early as the age of 8, she was already turning to alcohol as an escape from reality. She encountered sexual misconduct as a child and became rebellious as she aged. Drug use was habitual even before she became a teenager and her use progressed throughout the years to where eventually she became an intravenous drug user. Criminal activity, violence and abuse enveloped her life. Suicidal tendencies and hospitalizations were common place. Her life was totally out of control. Covered in shame, weighed down by guilt and in a fight for her life, at 38 years of age Tracey entered the Teen Challenge program. Layer by layer while she was a student in the program she experienced healing and deliverance and has by the Grace of God overcome addiction. Tracey successfully completed the Teen Challenge program in 2011 and today Tracey holds the full time position of" Development Coordinator " for the Ontario Women's' Center.
